The magic number for the A's is still 2. They could have clinched it today, but alas!
Last night's game ROCKED! Okay, bummer that Zito got the ND. And dear me, why did Street have to blow the save?! Darn it! But still, it was a good game because they freakin' WON. :D I'm such an A's chick. Oh, and I took lots of pictures from the game. :) The whole lot of them can be found at my gallery for September 22. And I've also uploaded some pictures here to Vox. :)
I'm suddenly excited at the possibility of going to the Xena convention in January 2007. One of my favorite Xena/Herc guest stars might make his first appearance at a convention (in the US at least). If he does indeed go (oh please please please!), I will be there. :)
Well, what can I say? Nick Swisher and Huston Street have got to be the cutest fellas on the A's right now. Fine, I say that because I got to meet them and take pictures with them. I'm funny like that. LOL!
I never thought this until now, but Nick is CUTE! When he was making his way to the photo ops booth, I couldn't help but appreciate his cuteness. ;) And wow, super sweet with a firm handshake. I can see why everyone just adores him. He's irresistible. Warm and friendly. He just doesn't need to wear his uniform so baggy. LOL!
Huston Street is quite sweet in his own right. He introduced himself to me! Awwwww! (Like I didn't know who he was.) Reminded me of how Ryan Gosling introduced himself to me when I met him, as if I didn't already know who the heck he was. But Huston is quite a gentleman. Isn't that just lovely on a young man? I think it is.
I wonder if either of them thought I was an old lady compared to them. LOL! ;)
...especially when my team wins. And I'm there to witness it. LOL!
Nope, didn't drink the merlot. And contrary to what most people probably think, the hubby is wearing a throwback Rickey Henderson jersey, not a Frank Thomas one. I like taking pictures of myself. And the shadows reveal our location. ;)
We had kids in the suite this time around. It's funny, the girls were the ones paying attention to the game. Loveliness. ;)
I ate a lot. We had hot dogs, a deli tray, salad, popcorn, peanuts, chips, cookies, brownies, chicken strips, and macaroni & cheese. Lots of food. And I ate my share. ;)
The A's won. Woohoo! Twas Eric Chavez Back-to-School Backpack day and he hit a homerun in the bottom of the 7th to give the A's the lead. Sweetness! Oh, and the game was a mere 2 hours and one minute. Yah!
We're going to the A's game today. I'm excited, as always. ;) Maybe I'll even post pictures on the fly while we're there. I did that for Tuesday night's game (posting to my livejournal) and it was a lot of fun. :D
My main computer's hard drive is about to die, if I'm to believe the black screen that comes up when I turn on the computer. I've never gotten a message like that. Isn't it scary? I've copied my photos to external drives and DVDs. Next up is copying my music. Such a freakin' nuisance!
I'm playing on my laptop now. I just got a new Treo (yah!) and I connected it to my laptop instead of my main computer. So sad! I wish there was a way to synchronize my contact and calendar info online to my Treo and then to a computer of my choice. Without using Outlook! I think that's why I like the Sidekick and its service. I can keep my contacts and calendar updated on my device, online, and on my computer. Pretty spiffy!
Speaking of my new Treo, here's a picture of it! Taken with the Sidekick, hence the not so fancy detail. LOL! I always loved my other Treos and it's neat having the latest one to compare. I have the Treo 700p. Very nice. The screen is excellent! And as it is EVDO, it's super fast. Zippy!
So now it's a Sidekick and a Treo. I went back to the Razr for my main number. (I was carrying the Nokia 6682, which is also a smartphone. I don't need to carry 3 smartphones! Actually, I probably don't need to carry 3 phones, eh?)
Is it time to leave yet? Ye gods! I hope the A's do well today. They've won the first two games of the series and they're going for the sweep. I'd love to see a sweep! :D
If you had a band, what would you call yourselves?
Question submitted by Zoot.
The Siren Fates. We would be a lady jazz trio and lull you with our smooth stylings. I'd like to play the saxophone. ;)
The A's game last night ROCKED! And what a way to win. Of course, today they got SPANKED. Oh well, it's good to feel a little pain some days, eh? ;)
I took that picture while I was stopped at Walnut on the way home. The big truck in front of me ended up turning on one of the side streets (thank goodness!), so I wasn't totally lame for not passing him when I had the chance. I don't like passing on those two lane roads. Makes me nervous.
The first week back to work wasn't so bad. We've got a new on site tech fella named Earl and he's pretty cool! I have a fellow geek type to talk with plus he knows all kinds of different things. It's neat meeting people like that. I wonder how we'll all change when school starts. Right now, it's kinda nice because there are only a few of us in the office and no kids running around. Each day, however, brings more business to the main office. Parents need to get their children registered for school. Joyous.
My A's won! I always love when my A's win. :D
My "Holy Toledo!" patch arrived today, along with the two pins I ordered! Ever since I saw the patch, I knew I would have one. Now I just need to figure out what to do with it. I don't have anything to put the patch on! My Mulder jersey isn't in the best shape (alas), so I don't want to put it on that. Maybe I'll buy a green jersey and put the patch on. I miss Bill King. They showed a bobblehead of him at tonight's game. He was standing in front of an empty chair between the two radio broadcasters. I felt a little teary-eyed. He was a great baseball announcer and sometimes it just hits me to know that he's never going to call another homerun or a double play. Such a sad thing.
